Several people asked me how I managed to get “so many” Perth Food Bloggers in one sitting for The Bloggers Brunch. The people who asked me that question probably thought the same thing I thought about a few months ago when I first put out the call for all of us to have a group meet up. As only 1 person heeded the call, I went in search of them – and was astounded by the amount I actually found! Some of these people answered my call for the meet, but unfortunately most were unable to come or too shy to make an appearance.
Here is my complete list of Perth Food and Beverage Bloggers. Feel free to catch up with them and see where they are at on their blogs – they are all great!
Abstract Gourmet: a lover of good food and good wine. Always an entertaining read!
AceHighWine: part-time master gambler, part-time wino, and part-time Wine Journalist. Obviously a man of many talents.
Alex Millier: professional muso with a great love of food and politics.
Beaufort Street Blog: the BSB’ers, not to be confused with the acronym for the Back Street Boys, have a mission to complete: to try out all cafes and restaurants along trendy Beaufort Street.
Beyond Beeton: writes about food and household management for the modern age
Cafe Grendel: believes coffee is a religion. A must read for all coffee fanatics.
Eat First, Diet Later: blogs recipes about home cooking, and believes life is too short to count calories. I like her already.
Glutton Dressed as Lamb – food story swapping between 2 friends. It’s almost like a conversation between them… almost…
Just Blogging Around: fun-loving Pharmacist who will exchange pharmaceutical drugs for food. Just kidding.
goldfishandelephants: a newbie who has just started food blogging recently – but don’t worry, none of her recipes contain goldfish or elephants.
Makan Makan: another new kid on the block who finds solace in her kitchen and misses food from ‘back home’.
Obsession Number 1: Food – Eating out in Perth, WA and other Places: Quick reviews of eateries in Perth and elsewhere
Oh For The Love of Food!: Mum of 2 who loves baking. A lot.
Palate: former Melbourne Restaurateur who is currently a professional Photojournalist with clients including The Australian, Australian Table, and Cravings magazine.
spiceblog: the original Perth food blogger who is still going strong after all these years. Amazingly, he still has time to blog even though he is the owner of Spice magazine.
Steam Oven Cooking: the Thermomix and Steam Oven Queen! If you want more recipes for your steam oven, visit her site – you won’t be disappointed.
Tamarind Trees: Tamarind Trees is great if you love Cambodian food, as this Blogger makes his way through the kitchen trying to re-create food he ate whilst living in Cambodia. Unfortunately Tamarind Trees is down until mid-November. I hope it comes back soon!
Tannic Teeth: A Wine Writer who loves the arts.
The Food Pornographer: unashamed daily food porn.
Tuna Cupcake: the new kids on the block with interesting tastes including tuna cupcakes and a Korean drink resembling a monster with thousands of eyes.
umeboss: Delicious food love shared by a Japanese girl
Vegan About Town – A proud food-obsessed vegan who blogs both about vegan recipes and eats around town
White Noise Media: although you won’t see any blog entries there, you can see Fleur’s articles both in print and online mediums such as Scoop Magazine, The Sunday Times, and podcasting for the Lonely Planet. This talented lady has written awesome articles including a recent interview with Warren Mead, the former Oyster Bar owner and restaurant mogul.
Wino sapien: while he’s not being a Medic, he drinks and blogs about wine… hopefully not at the same time!
If there are any more that would like to crawl out of the woodwork, please let me know regardless of whether you want to meet up with fellow F&B writers or not. It would be nice to know that you exist in our corner of the world.

Has anyone seen the “Pasta Hut” ads where food tasters were served pastas and they were all surprised to discover they were not actually prepared by a chef but by Pizza Hut?
Does anyone believe that its true?
Initially I thought it was a WA restaurant- you know, the West Perth sort. Turns out to be a restaurant in Sydney. Hmm.
I know the ad you’re talking about and I don’t believe that the ‘hidden cameras’ and the diners’ reactions are true… but there’s only one way to find out!
