Announcing… the Olympic Food Series!

This may sound a bit cheesy, but the Olympics have inspired me to draw on the five major regions of the world. For the next few weeks, I will blog about my attempts to create foods from around the globe.

In 1913, the Founder of the modern Olympic movement adopted 5 rings which you can see on the Olympic flag that he saw on an ancient Greek artefact, and used this to represent the 5 major regions of the world – Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. The colours of the Olympic rings symbolise the world, as each nation has at least either blue, yellow, black, green, or red in their flags. And maybe even white too. :p The rings and colours do not represent any specific continent or region in the world.

In the Olympic Food Series, I will be attempting to create meals from around the world. Hopefully the meals will be good, as it will be my first time making most of these dishes. But oh well, at least I tried right?

Oh, and one more thing. The last week of the Olympic series will be focusing on China. The reason for this is obviously because the Olympics for 2008 is held in China.

Please pray for my family who will be attempting to eat these meals that they won’t get food poisoning. If I disappear for a while, you know where I am – in hospital or in bed, fending off food poisoning! And please pray that I don’t burn down the kitchen! ^^
