DON’s Ultimate Gourmet Recipe Competition – Enter and Win a Restaurant Voucher!
Calling all gourmet food lovers! As a competition junkie, I’d like to share this great new competition from DON Smallgoods that I’m running in conjunction with Nuffnang. Sorry to my non-Aussie readers – this competition is open to Australian residents only.
Nuffnang is holding a competition where you can win big! Simply create your Ultimate Gourmet Creation using any DONs meat product. The 5 most creative entries will win a dinner voucher to one of the best restaurants in your home town! Score!
To get your imaginations going and your mouths salivating, here’s an inspiration to get you going with my own original gourmet fusion recipe:
DON’S ROAST CHICKEN HAM SUSHI
(Makes 1 roll)
2 x 8” lengths of 1/4” square cream cheese
2 slices of shaved DON’s Roast Chicken Ham
2 x 8” lengths of 1/4” square English cucumber
2 toasted nori (sushi grade seaweed) sheets
1. Cup Japanese Sushi Rice
2. Place a full sheet of sushi nori seaweed on the bamboo sushi mat, shiny side down
3. Spread 1 cup of cooked sushi rice evenly over the nori by pressing down lightly with wet fingertips, leaving about 3 cm of nori bare lengthways away from you
4. Arrange the portions of DON’s Roast Chicken Ham, cucumber, and cream cheese in a horizontal line down the centre of the rice
5. Roll up the sushi tightly with the sushi mat like a fat cigar with an even but firm pressure so that it is tightly packed (but not too tightly otherwise the sushi roll will break!)
6. With a wet knife, cut the roll evenly into 8 pieces
7. Serve with Japanese soy sauce preferably of Kikkoman grade and Nitsume, or with Thai sweet chilli sauce
