Foodbuzz Publisher Community Launches

by angie on October 23, 2008

Foodbuzz is a food blogger community which has more than 1,000 blogging partners (also known as Featured Publishers) – including us! Although I think that was a little obvious since on the right hand side of the site we have a Foodbuzz badge and ad… :p

As I got home and went through my mail, I noticed a parcel waiting for me from Foodbuzz. As I opened it, I went “Oooh!” as I was thoroughly delighted with the mail as it touched my inner-Asian/cheapskate. It was freebies! I like! I received a nice and clean white apron with the Foodbuzz logo on it, and a spatula with Foodbuzz printed on it. Very Noice. :) I just have to decide whether I’m going to share it with my Co-Founder, Co-Bloggers, and Co-Photographers. Like, rip the apron into pieces so we can all revel in the freebies – because sharing is caring.

To celebrate my freebies, I decided to cook Fried Rice. Cos that also starts with the letter “F”.

Fried Rice

Foodbuzz Celebration Fried Rice Recipe
Cooked rice, enough for however many people are eating
Soy sauce
Sesame oil
1 onion, diced
Frozen or fresh vegies
Meat (optional) – in this case I chose char siew
Pepper

1. In a work on medium-high fire, fry the onions until translucent and then fry the meat until almost done. Sprinkle a pinch of salt around the edges.
2. Put the rice into the wok, and stir. Cover the wok for 4 minutes.
3. Make a whole in the middle and stir the frozen or fresh vegies in. Cover for about 10 minutes if frozen, less if its fresh.
4. Stir the mixture in your wok, then make a whole in the middle again and put 1-2 eggs in. Once you’ve put the eggs in, stir the egg quickly in the middle before folding the rest of the rice in.
5. Turn off the fire. Add a dash of sesame oil, a few dashes of soy sauce, and cracked pepper. Stir the mixture.

Serve.

Please note that for some reason, it’s better to use 1 day old rice in your fried rice. I’m not sure why, but it seems to work. Also please note that this fried rice recipe should be used only as a guide, because the recipe is actually in my head. The one with the blurred out head with a fake smile.

Thanks Foodbuzz for the F-F-F-Fabulous gifts!! :D

Also, while I remember to plug it – this weekend we have something absolutely huge coming up. Stay tuned for more!!

I’m pretty sure day old rice is better because it won’t be so mushy/soft when you cook it =)
