Bao Bao Restaurant in Aman Suria

by angie on October 30, 2008

We continue back on our journey through time to the Malaysia series… before I get bugged again by my friends who are missing out on their daily dosage before they leave on their holidays. ;)

With a 1st year anniversary banner hanging from the shop sign asking, “Ni chi le ma?” (have you eaten yet?), Bao Bao Restaurant is a restaurant specializing in making you full. I thought that was a really excellent catchphrase since we hadn’t eaten yet and were just about to walk into the shop.

Bao Bao Restaurant specialises in pan mee, which are egg noodles that are torn into pieces by hand. They also serve about 3 other different types of noodles, all of which I think you can have either in a soup or as dry noodles.

Esther was really worried that they would run out of food by the time we arrived because it is popular with the locals, especially with workers on their lunch break. Fortunately, we were just in time to order the last 3 bowls of traditional pan mee soup that day, but we were far too late to order their fish balls. A few minutes later, we heard a Waitress tell customers who had just sat down that they had just run out of pan mee. Oops! Sorry!

Our bowls of pan mee were rushed out to us, steaming hot. The noodle soup was really tasty, and I’m sure it was not just our hungry stomachs talking.

In addition, I think it is good value for money considering a bowl of noodles costs less than RM$5 and you get table service in a nice, clean and cool setting.

I would definitely go back again the next time I am in Kuala Lumpur.
