I know! It was getting there. Got to the point that I held on until I really couldn't bare it anymore. The salvation being that the restaurants are a little cleaner as they monitor their facilities more. :) Hope that helps. :D

Yes we do have the automatic toilets. Apparently the 1st one was a gift from NZ, or so the newspapers claimed even though some NZ'ers I have met have said there's no such technology in NZ. Hmmm...

Ooo!! I think we have them here in Aust too... Or maybe it was just suppose to be a plan for the future? I know here in Perth, the public toilet booths in Northbridge(ie our main nightclub area etc), the doors are suppose to open up automatically after 10min too. I think it's for the same reason.

You might also want to be careful with using those public toilet booths in Paris. In order to deter junkies and the homeless from spending too much time in them, the booths flushes themselves from above walls and everything after 10 minutes (I could be wrong with the time).

It just reminds you of how much we take for granted in the Down Under...

I too experienced the oddity of minature bath towels in Korea...also where we were staying we weren't allowed to flush the toilet paper...

I think Japanese toilets are the coolest! i would totally import one ;) heated seats, sensor lids which open automatically, multiple wash and dry functions and auto flush...some of them even play etiquette noises whilst you go, and have a sensor operated tap on top so you can wash your hands...the only problem was i couldn't read any of the instructions so it was all trial and error :(
